Case study: Admin Backlog

It’s been a busy few months at LJM VA Services, so I thought it would be good to start sharing details of some of the projects we’ve been working on.

The first being a client who is a legal professional in Edinburgh, great at his profession but struggles with the heavy admin that his type of work creates. Over the last few years an admin backlog had built up and following recent GDPR regulations it was time to get his administration under control. We were asked to help clear the backlog and put in place a new admin structure with an easy to follow process for ongoing paperwork and emails.

We went to the office, assessed the level of the backlog and put a plan in place. We were given 12 weeks to design a new filing structure, scan every document and file them electronically. Alongside sorting out internal mail and dealing with a vast amount of unfiled emails.

Outcome: The paperwork is now filed on an online filing system that co-ordinates with the hard copies and email mailbox structure. The client now feels ‘on top’ of his paperwork. He is also pleased that the easy to use structure is now in place so going forward it doesn’t feel like such a headache.

This was a very satisfying project to assist with, seeing the difference from start to finish and knowing we helped massively with the day to day admin that can often pile up and become unbearable.
